Event Description:
Overview: This course has been developed to educate design and building professionals on the aspects of designing today’s smart home. It will cover the features, benefits and components of a smart home: network, security, lighting control, automatic window treatments, climate control, AV and energy management. 

It will also cover the planning process, budgeting and how to talk about smart home technology with clients.

Our goal is to ensure builders and remodelers are aware of these aspects so they will feel comfortable with smart home technology in their projects, what the role of the architect plays and the role of the smart home integrator.

Learning Objectives: Understanding the features and benefits of a smart home. Review of security, network systems, lighting controls, AV, energy management, automatic window
treatments Understand the planning and building process. How the project lifecycle goes from inception, to completion to ongoing care and maintenance. Budgeting: How to ensure smart
home technology is budgeted for and kept within the project scope. A review of the Home Technology Association's online budgeting tools. How to talk with clients about their needs and
goals, as well as expectations for cost. Evaluating the client's needs.

Presenter:
Michael Oh is the Founder of TSP Smart Spaces. He has over 30 years of experience running and growing a technology business. Skilled in inspiring technical teams, Cybersecurity, IoT, Smart Buildings, Systems Engineering, Macs and Apples in Enterprise, Strategic Planning, Marketing Strategy, and System Administration. Bachelor of Science (BS) in Course VI and XVI (Electrical Engineering, Avionics) from Massachusetts Institute of Technology.
