Metropolitan Cabinets & Countertops Supports Careers in Construction Massachusetts
$10,000 Contribution to BRAGB’s Carpentry Trades Program

CANTON, Massachusetts (August 6, 2019) – The Builders and Remodelers Association of Greater Boston (BRAGB) received $10,000 from Norwood-based Metropolitan Cabinets & Countertops in support of the Careers in Construction Massachusetts trades program.

Metropolitan President Stuart Elfland acknowledged: “When I heard BRAGB was helping launch Carpentry Trades programs in local high schools, I immediately chose to contribute. Our company recognizes the growing need for qualified tradesmen. Helping support these programs is important to us and important for our industry.”

This coming school year, both Framingham High School and Marlborough High School are launching Carpentry Trades classes. Along with Milford High School, entering its second year, these three programs are expected to have at least 60 students who will not only earn their high school diplomas, but will receive a Trades Certification from the Home Builders Institute (www.HBI.org).

Careers in Construction Massachusetts is managed by BRAGB. The program is designed to help Massachusetts-based public high schools launch trades programs. The program either facilitates or directly supports finding the funds, acquiring the tools, sourcing the materials and attaining the curriculum for high school administrators, instructions and students who are interested in a trades career.

BRAGB garners support for Careers in Construction through fund raising activities, member sponsorships and Sustaining Builder contributions. See www.bragb.org/GoBuildMA for more information.
